Vornado is a fully integrated real estate investment trust ("REIT") with a collection of premier assets and a focused strategy of growing its dominant positions in New York City office and retail. While concentrated in New York, Vornado also has premier assets in Chicago and San Francisco, and maintains a 32.4% interest in Alexander's, Inc. ("Alexander's") (NYSE: ALX), which owns six properties in the greater New York metropolitan area. Vornado is a real estate industry leader in sustainability, with over 27 million square feet of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified buildings, representing approximately 97% of our portfolio, with over 23 million square feet at LEED Gold or Platinum. In 2020, we were recognized by the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts ("NAREIT") as a Leader in the Light for the 11th consecutive year, and in 2021 we achieved ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year with Sustained Excellence (seventh time with this distinction).
